Case description
Based on a source analysis, the data from the Force system is accessed one-on-one to the Teradata EDV layer (the Elementary DataVault layer) of the data warehouse. To realize this, ETL (Extract – Transform – Load) has been built for loading this data. Subsequently, the mappings were modeled with SAP Powerdesigner between the EDV layer to the new data warehouse data model. This new data warehouse data model is based on the Teradata FSDM data model (Financial Services Data Model).
FSDM is an industry wide logical data model for financial institutions and insurance companies. Tools and methodologies: Teradata, MSSQL, Powercenter, Sap PowerDesigner, Bitbucket, Sourcetree, Jenkins, Datavault and 3NF
Challenges for the team are in terms of deadlines, how to deal with the dual period (a period where both the old source system and the new source system are both active) and how do we ensure that the impact on the existing reporting chain is minimized as much as possible stays.
